Check Out Panasonic’s Large Screens
Panasonic, firs-line resident of plasma town, has traditionally ruled the massive-size flat-panel frontier with an iron fist, but with LCDs available in new 55-inch and, currently, 65-inch types for competitive prices like the Panasonic TC-P65S1, the company has had to consistently make its own big screens less costly. The happy result, at least for HDTV shoppers with room to spare, is that larger models can be had for chunks of change that seem small by historical standards. And while the bigger sets in Panasonic’s TC-PS1 plasma series might surprise you with their affordability, they still deliver finer picture quality than most of their large LCD competition.
We all know that the 50-inch Panasonic TC-P50V10 is an even better than the 54-inch Panasonic TC-P54G10. This Panasonic plasma has the same deep blacks that grace its less expensive little brother, and adds a handful of critical improvements: better video processing to handle 1080p/24 sources, and more picture adjustments that permit it to transcend the limitations of THX mode. Its picture should satisfy all but the pickiest of videophiles, and it also outperforms any LCD-based display, LED or otherwise, we’ve ever tested. Beyond image quality, the V10 presents plenty of features and an eye-catching one-sheet-of-glass design, for a combination that deserves serious consideration from buyers willing to pay for it.
Since there is no more production of the Pioneer Kuro series, the Panasonic huge screen TVs are the way to go. So do review them thoroughly. You have got nothing to lose.
